For the next 22 minutes it is still February 14th, 2011...Valentine's Day, the day singles hate themselves the most and the day couples make a box of chocolate or a flower seem 500x times more special than it actually is. Don't get me wrong because chocolate is chocolate. Good for the soul any time of year, but on Valentine's Day it means omg-he-cares-about-me-so-much-we'll-be-together-forever! Why is it only appropriate to show love once a year? Why can't we cherish the ones we have all year long? When you think about it, our favorite memories are those that take us by surprise. Your friend brings you a Sonic drink while you're working, you find a sweet note in your mailbox. Stuff like that. I am not a Valentine's Day hater or have any desire to shoot spit wads at heart shaped balloons, but when I find my forever valentine, I want those special moments to come without Hallmark product placements.
Happy Valentine's Day loved ones. I cherish you.
